The information complained about will not be removed from our site and no apology will be forthcoming. If Duane McGaw is embarrassed by visitors to OffshoreAlert's web-site knowing that he received millions of dollars by helping to swindle the elderly and others in a crude investment fraud, then he shouldn't have participated in it. Clearly, the truth hurts. This threat to sue in Canada is without teeth and betrays an ignorance of international defamation laws. In 2010, the United States passed The SPEECH Act, which renders foreign libel judgments unenforceable in this country. Finally, while it's a moot point, the content complained about is a blog, not an 'article'. Articles on our site appear behind a pay-wall, while blogs can be viewed for free.

I have been following Venture garbage and the fraudsters behind them for years. I would guess there have been DOZENS of Supreme Court actions by pure scum to stifle fair comment from the public. Most are effective in what they do. (Case in point a B.C. Hells Angel suing for defamation)

Mr. Duane McGaw is now on our radar and will very likely appear here ... http://neer-do-well-hall-of-infamey.blogspot.ca/

Naturally I'm looking forward to his Statement of Civil Claim.
