Cayman/Hong Kong crypto firm BIT Mining admits bribing Japanese officials, will pay $10M to settle U.S. criminal charges

Cayman Islands-domiciled, Hong Kong-based crypto firm BIT Mining Ltd. has agreed to pay a $10 million fine to settle criminal charges in the United States that it paid $1.9 million in bribes to “Japanese government officials”, while its Chinese former CEO, Zhengming Pan, has been criminally indicted.
