Offshore Insurance Schemes: Are Insureds Cheating The Government Or Are Insurers Cheating Insureds?

This session presents an overview of offshore tax shelters and other schemes involving insurance arrangements, IRS actions against those programs, and how their clients have fared in criminal, tax and civil litigation. With several such recent programs ending in indictments of promoters and serious losses to clients, this area has proven to be a hotbed of activity for the U. S. Department of Justice and civil litigators alike. Speakers
  • Jay Adkisson, Chair, American Bar Association's Committee on Captive Insurance (California)
  • Denis Kleinfeld, Of Counsel, Fuerst Ittleman David & Joseph (Miami)
