    Adie was formally appointed as the new Head of the Bailiwick of Guernsey Financial Intelligence Unit in December 2021, this appointment was made by the Director, Economic & Financial Crime Bureau in consultation with the States of Guernsey Committee for Home Affairs under the provisions of the new Economic and Financial Crime Bureau and Financial Intelligence Unit (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2022.


    The FIU was previously maintained by the Guernsey Border Agency, however it maintained its operational independence to meet international standards, Adie has over 23 years of financial crime experience and was involved in the FIU responses for Guernsey’s mutual evaluations by the IMF in 2010 and MONEYVAL in 2014, supporting co-speaker Phil Hunkin the then Head of the Bailiwick of Guernsey Economic Crime Division including the FIU. Adie has also completed the FATF 5th round mutual evaluation training for evaluators alongside other guest speakers for this session.


    Adie has been involved in other international work including taking the lead in the 2014/2015 presidency for the Camden Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network (CARIN), the 2015 Annual General Meeting session being hosted in Guernsey with over 140 International attendees.  Adie has also taken the lead in the formation of the Quad Island FIU Private Public Partnership Forum and has provided presentations on this forum at International events including the RUSI PPP conference in Amsterdam in 2022 and more recently the 2023 EGMONT Plenary in Abu Dhabi.
