United States presidential hopeful Barack Obama has thrown his political weight behind a comprehensive bill to clamp-down on an estimated $100 billion per year offshore tax evasion by U. S. taxpayers.
The draft legislation – known as The Stop Tax Haven Abuse Act – was introduced to Congress on February 17, 2007 by Obama, fellow Democrat Senator Carl Levin, and Senator Norm Coleman, who is a Republican.
