Grant Thornton sues TeleCayman for $40,000

Accounting firm Grant Thornton (Cayman) is suing local telecommunications provider TeleCayman Limited for allegedly failing to pay a nine-month-old invoice for $40,000. The lawsuit was filed at the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands on December 23.

Bermuda & Cayman firms sued in airplane ownership dispute

Telecommunications and cable television firms in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands have been dragged into a long-running legal dispute over the ownership of a $900,000 airplane that was damaged in Hurricane Ivan. KeyTech Limited, and Bermuda Cablevision, both incorporated and based in Bermuda; WestStar TV Ltd. and WestTel Ltd., both incorporated and based in the Cayman Islands; West Interlink Inc., a Florida corporation based in Miami, Florida; and Rodney Alan Hansen, a resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, are all defendants in a complaint filed at the U. S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida on February 5, 2007.

Letter from Bermuda: Bermuda’s chronic Internet & email problems

In the last week of July, users of Bermuda's second-largest Internet services provider (ISP), North Rock, had all their outgoing e-mails delivered to the trash, instead of the intended recipients. The senders were not told this had happened until a local newspaper forced North Rock's hand. They had not been told on the “many” previous occasions that their e-mails had been lost.
