Turks & Caicos Islands: Inside One of the World’s Largest Asset Recovery Programs

The implementation of a substantial and wide-ranging civil asset recovery program has been one of the many steps which the Turks & Caicos Islands Government has taken in an attempt to put its well-publicized past behind it. Led by English lawyer Laurence Harris and a team from his firm Edwards Wildman, the civil recovery program in the TCI started at the end of 2009 and is one of the largest such programs implemented around the world, resulting in the recovery of large amounts of land and money for the Government. In this session, Laurence will look at the elements necessary for the implementation of a successful civil recovery program and how those have been deployed in the TCI. Speakers
  • James Maton, Partner, Edwards Wildman (London)
